Studio
Founded in Agrigento by architect Alfonso Mancuso and firmly established in the Sicilian and Italian scene, AM Architetture is an atelier combining a deep culture of design with the managerial rigour demanded by the real estate, corporate and institutional markets.
We work to measure: first we look at the place and at what is already there, then we look for the form. We have no style to apply, we have a way of proceeding — reading, measuring, testing — and every project ends up resembling the place it stands in.
For us a building is substance before form: it has to sit well in its territory, to last, and to work economically for the people who commissioned it.
We follow both the creative and the administrative side of a project, because we don't think the two can be separated. We keep studying new construction methods and technologies, especially around sustainable design: every site teaches us something we carry into the next one.

Alfonso Mancuso
Architect, founder of the studio
Alfonso opened the studio in 2010 and has since followed projects from start to finish: concept, interiors, paperwork and site. He has worked from the Agrigento coast to the shores of Lake Como, and still sketches by hand before opening the computer. He is the person clients talk to when there is an important decision to make.
Sandro Marsiglio
Senior architect
Sandro has been an architect for sixteen years, many of them abroad between private houses, hotels and retail spaces. In the studio he is the one always asking how a detail gets built, not just how it is drawn: he looks after construction drawings and the junctions that hold a project together on site.
Alessio Manzella
Architect, project coordination and permits
Alessio joined in 2021 and keeps track of every project underway: who does what, what is missing, when it is due. He works on detailed design, systems integration and the paperwork with public bodies, tenders included — the least visible part of the job, the one that gets a project to the finish line.
Erika Bruccoleri
Architect, interiors, conservation and BIM
Erika is an architect and worked abroad on houses, leisure buildings and restoration projects. In the studio she looks after interiors and projects involving existing buildings, where every choice has to be made together with what is already there. She is BIM-certified: she keeps the models tidy and the relations with foreign partners and institutions running.
Salvatore Bonaccorso
Interior design, 3D and imagery
Salvatore graduated in industrial design in 2019 and has since moved between interiors and architecture. In the studio he designs interior spaces for houses and builds the 3D images of projects: it lets clients see a room before it exists, and that is often where the last ideas come from.
Miriam Mancuso
Architect, interiors and art direction
Miriam is an architect working between Milan and Sicily on space and interiors. She looks after how a project looks and reads: colours, materials, furniture, image. She is the person who holds the atmosphere of a house together, from the plan down to the last lamp.
